Back to Nature

During the 70s and 80s some people decided to ‘go back to nature’. Theo v. Fellenberg and his wife Theres, as two pioneers of this living philosophy, chose to bring up their children in the upper Gotthard Valley, in Switzerland. In this presentation we hear from Theo about their adventures.

Theo grew up in Bern and has travelled around the world. As a volunteer, he worked for years both in Sri Lanka, Korea, Palestine and India.  He met his wife Theres in Switzerland and between 1960 and 1966 they assisted Tibetan Refugees in Switzerland.

For many years Theo was the international Secretary of SCI ‘Service Civil’ International and assisted the ‘Schweitzer Bergheimat’ organisation, supporting mountain farmers.

Between the ages of 70 and 77 Theo hiked in the area of Khumber – Everest and around Mount Kailash in Tibet.

In the next presentation we meet Theo’s son, Micha, and hear from his perspective, how he was affected by his parents decision to go ‘Back to Nature’.
